The perfect travel companion

I love travelling. I love planes, trains, road trips… basically the act of moving from point A to B is when I feel most pumped about life. When I was little, I wanted nothing more than to be a commercial airline pilot. My dad managed to talk me out of it (and I became a fashion designer/illustrator instead - sorry pops!).

Swish.

The best feeling is walking into an airport in one climate, maybe cold and rainy, and walking out into some humid tropical location, or vice versa. And in between that there's frigid recycled air, stuffy waiting rooms, you name it.

I brought one of our Celtic silk scarves with me on a trip to Europe in January, back when they were hot off the presses (they're now sold out, but more are on the way!). It's now wrapped around my neck while sitting in the Philly airport on our way back from AETA. I like to think that it adds a little class to my standby summer travel outfit of Birkenstocks and ripped, slightly baggy jeans.

Silk is just one of those magic, unreal fabrics. Despite being whisper thin, it serves just fine as a blanket on the plane, and never feels hot or clammy in hot weather. Didn't bring enough clothes? Use it as a shirt or shawl. Messy, unbrushed travel hair? Head scarf! Beach sarong! Flag! Portable art! At almost 40 inches square, you can do just about anything with it.

Can't resist? They're out of stock, but will be shipping out early September. Go drool over the here.
